Nottingham Saw A Spike In Number Of Homeless

Published by:

While others are enjoying the effect of effective heating Nottingham, there are those who are getting through their nights sleeping in the street. The sad news is that the number of rough sleepers in the area is considerably higher than before. This is based on the figures gathered by the city council of Nottingham.

For the month of January, there was an average of 49 people who are sleeping on the street each night with the inclusion of those who are in the emergency provision category. This number is higher compared to the month of November last year when there were only 34 and December with 41 rough sleepers.

Andrew Redfern, the chief executive officer of Framework which is a charity dedicated in helping those who are homeless, said that the number of individuals spending the night on the streets has increased by 140 per cent in Nottingham. There were 283 rough sleepers on March 2013 and it has spiked to 678 for March 2018.

Nottingham City Councilor Toby Neal said that eight years ago the city is not in the state it is in now. According to him, if they are to focus on the solution of constructing additional houses or to increase the available flats for tent, it will only be beneficial for a small percentage of people. The real problem lies in those people with more complicated needs but since the support system provided by the government is only for those in emergency or only reactive in nature, the homeless are not given the appropriate system that will work for their need.

Kim Pike is another fellow who is currently working with organization that wanted to eliminate homelessness. He believes that providing a home is not the best solution. There are others who have more complex needs such as trauma or damaging experiences that prevents them from inhabiting a permanent home. This is why many turn to alcohol and drugs in order to cope.

Many families enjoy effective heating Nottingham but the government should look beyond the need for a home and answer the most pressing needs of those who prefer to sleep on the street.

These numbers were extrapolated from the number of travellers that have booked their flights via these airports.

AoT didn’t give specifics on when the air travellers would be going into the airports. The Songkran annual holiday will be running from the 13th to the 17th of April in 2019. Will Small Business Owners Survive Brexit?

Published by:

Small businesses are those that are owned under private corporation, sole proprietor or partnership. Compared to a regular corporation though, the annual revenue is lower and the number of staff is fewer. According to the European Union, if the staff members are less than 50 people then they are categorized as small business. They are not free from financial burden through like regular and large corporations. Business owners also have additional costs to think about such as small business IT support because it is an important aspect of a business nowadays in order to be competitive.

In the economy of the United Kingdom, small to medium businesses also known as SMEs accounts for 47 per cent of the total revenue. It means that they have a major role in the productivity of the country but there is room for improvements to create a bigger impact economically by supporting them so they could conduct more activities.

The issues now that concern SMEs all over the United Kingdom is with regards to the new requirements for tax reporting and the new costs they will need to shoulder. These new regulations are implemented today. It is the reason why the first day of April has been called as Blue Monday.

While there are beneficial changes like lower business rates, there are also changes that mean additional costs which can be a burden to most. Federation of Small Businesses is an organization that represents SMEs in the United Kingdom. They believe that the changes were introduced at a bad time because the confidence level of the business owners in the country is in a very low state.

In an announcement made on August of last year, the government has given the green light for discount scheme with the business rates. This means than an average shop will be able to save $4,280 in their business rates charges for the next two years. An average public house, on the other hand, will be able to save $7,867.

In exchange, businesses are required to have new software that will meet the requirement of the MTD. This means that small firms will have to spend an average of $733 for the software and small business IT support will also come in as an additional cost because the software needs to be operated and maintained daily.

Ikea Looking At Launching Platform With Rival Brand Offerings

Published by:

Swedish furniture giant IKEA, known to customers and companies like Arthur Fitzhugh Decorating across the world, is looking at launching an online sales platform, one with a slight bent; it won’t just be offering products from the retail giant, but also from rivaling brands.

The company is currently working on finalizing the details on the pilot of the platform, which will function like Amazon or China’s Alibaba, according to Inter IKEA’s Chief Executive, TorbjornLoof. Loof, however, also noted that there needs to be something to differentiate itself from general sites that sold everything.

He says that there’s a lot of opportunities for both IKEA’s site and the major global retail platforms, as there’s a lot of areas that are worth exploring for the company. He points to Zalando, Europe’s largest online fashion retailer, as an example. Zalando managed to grow to its current state by selling clothing from different brands, none of which own the German website.

Mr. Loof explained that IKEA has yet to discuss the matter with its rivals, but that it had every intention of being a part in the creation of a platform that would provide for the whole industry. He says that IKEA has the scale and resources necessary for it, as well as the drive to forge ahead with their plans. Loof believes that, within the next decade, the industry will see the platform being developed.

The CEO explained that, when the discussions are finally handled, they’ll be handling trials on third-party sites, but he also explicitly noted that it wouldn’t be Amazon. Loof says that the plan is to test and learn, to see what could be in it for IKEA, what market and what products they could get the most out of and make the plan for the company moving forward with this clear.

Word has been spreading across companies like Arthur Fitzhugh Decorating and the world as IKEA undergoes some of the biggest changes it the company’s history, testing out concepts like furniture leasing, as well as operating city-centre shops and even providing home assembly services to buyers.

When asked about all the changes, Loof says that IKEA is always exploring, looking for ways to make IKEA better, both offline and online.

March Is A Good Month For Cruising In Cairns

Published by:

The cruising industry is doing well as Cairns welcomes four different cruise ships at the beginning of the month of March. Tourists who are traveling by air need to hire shuttle transfer while those who arrive as part of a cruise will be able to stay the night onboard. March is considered to be the busiest month for the city because this is when majority of the cruise ships are arriving.

As the city welcomes four cruise ships, about 4,300 passengers are expected on shore. This number also includes the crew who will be stopping at the Cruise Liner Terminal. The very first cruise ship to arrive was the Azamara Quest. It made a stop on the port after its previous stop in Townsville. The ship has over a thousand passengers on board and they stayed on the city’s port for one night.

Richard Stevenson, the operations manager of Ports North, said that they have already confirmed eight cruise ships that will be landing in Cairns for the whole month of March. It is uncommon though for them to entertain a lot of them within a span of one week.

He added that the sight of the cruise ships along brings a lot of excitement to the port and the locals who are eager to watch what is happening near the waterfront. After the Azamara Quest, the next cruise ship expected to land is the Europa with only a day in between arrivals. Europa came from the Hamilton Island carrying around 600 passengers including its crew. They will stay for one night before heading to Papua New Guinea.

As Europa leaves, Insignia docks after its trip from Brisbane along with 1,040 people onboard – passengers and crew. The last one to arrive in the back-to-back arrivals of the four cruise ships is the Amsterdam. The ship came from Townsville with nearly 2,000 passengers on board for their day trip. Mr. Stevensen said that processing these passengers alone will take up most of the staff’s time.

Arriving on cruise ship is a different experience from flying and taking the shuttle transfer which is preferred by many travelers especially those who have limited time for their holidays.

Visitors whose purpose is a luxurious getaway will enjoy all the modern conveniences and amenities that will ensure a unique holiday. The endless stretch of white sandy beaches will encourage meditative sunset strolls. There are wellness experts that can guide guests toward restoration, relaxation and rejuvenation.

During a press conference, Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed stated that the culture and Islamic policies of the nation must be followed and not mixed up. There are acceptable dress codes in the laws and regulations of Maldives that people including tourists must follow. Strict measures against tourists will be taken if they do not follow the regulations.

The culture and Islamic ways must not be mixed up in the local inhabited islands particularly when there are children around. Problems arise because guest houses that provide accommodations to tourists do not enlighten the guests on the proper attire that they can use in public beaches. Authorities have provided registration opportunities for guest houses but some have not completed the registration process.

The tourism minister also highlighted some of the undesirable consequences that happened in the past in some guest homes. Minister Waheed stressed that they are not responsible if similar accidents happen because of the operations of unregistered guest houses and facilities which are considered illegal.

Ever since the tourism industry has been established in Maldives, it has always been deemed inappropriate for tourists to dress down when they are in the capital city of Male and other inhabited islands. Tourists are free to swim in the swimwear of their choice in private resorts. There are local islands that offer bikini beaches so that tourists can swim in their swimwear without the authorities taking action against them.
