An Insight Into The Real Housewives Of Melbourne

The Real Housewives Show was launched in 2006. Television viewers were treated to a reality show that focused on the lavish life styles of affluent women. The reality show became successful that it eventually became a franchise with Real Housewives in New York, Beverly Hills etc.

The women in the American editions of Real Housewives were extraordinarily glamorous but the reality behind that is they are living beyond their means. Some have filed for bankruptcy while others have been sued for unpaid taxes and rents. The lives of these women are real drama with all the complications.

Many viewers will likely aspire to experience the opulent life of the Real Housewives but it is far more entertaining to watch the egomaniacs that hate each other and verbally abuse one another using the most inventive profanities that be found on screen. However, there are confessional moments where there is no sense of self delusion. They give the impression that this is a kind of show where women can talk to other women about their problems and lives. Women in the reality show celebrate a certain kind of power through the recognition and validation of the difficulties of living in a world that men still dominate and hold the purse strings.

On the other hand, the women portray themselves as pampered dolls in a spectacular way where even the most mundane events of their life are treated as an accomplishment. A lot of what the housewives say sound odd flat and unnatural which seems that there has been a hasty off-camera scripting even if the conversations have to be spontaneous and adlibbed. However, this is not unusual for reality TV because to seem spontaneous, it must be rigorously produced and tightly edited like a soap opera.

In today’s generation of on-demand streaming and recording boxes people are not longer watching the same shows at the same time. Viewers may still seek the feeling of watching a show in tandem with others because they can make commentaries and reactions and share it with their friends through social media. People love to tweet while watching television and they tweet about the people they are watching.
