NHS Approves The Use Of Cloud For Storing Medical Records

When it comes to healthcare, cloud computing is making a name and it has served as medical director support as well as everyone in the healthcare industry is benefiting from it. NHS has already given its approval to use cloud computing in healthcare sector. In fact, a guide was already published with recommendations on how the healthcare industry can employ cloud computing. Cloud computing is already utilized by organization such as Code4Health by the NHS England and NHS Choices but it the approval is considered a milestone because they already gave permission for the cloud computing to be used in a broader sense.

According to the new national guidance, it is mandated that all data should be kept inside the UK-European Economic Area which pertains to countries that follow the standards created by the European Commission in order to protect data. This also covers US services that are under the Privacy Shield of the data transfer deal.

According to MedConfidential, a medical privacy campaign organization, the Privacy Shield which was agreed by the United States and The European Union has received many criticisms including a number of data protections regulators in Europe. According to European officials, the arrangement was in order after they have conducted their first yearly review in 2017.

MedConfidential also said that the rules by MoD are quite strict because they ordered that cloud data should only be kept inside the UK network which is considered as a limitation. Therefore many providers including Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Google and IBM decided to construct their first cloud data facilities within Britain.

Nonetheless, the acceptance by the NHS will make things easier as cloud computing serves as medical director support and the organization aims to make sure that security is arranged from the local level to protect patient information.

The state of Oklahoma, back in 2016, had a vote on a heated ballot initiative, which would reclassify drug possession and minor thefts as misdemeanors. The ballot was then passed, with the initiative being approved.  As a result, the drug-crime policing of the Oklahoma state has lost its metaphorical stick.

The idea behind the change was to divert nonviolent drug users to the a USA rehab facility that can help them deal with their issue. Reports say that the voters was interested with the initiative due to rising prison costs, with Oklahama’s rate of incarceration being the second highest in the US, second only to Louisiana.

The reform was passed, in spite of the opposition of the state’s public prosecutors and law-enforcement agencies, and was outright rejected in many Oklahama rural counties. This reform followed the changes in other states, which include Louisiana itself, who are all looking for ways to avoid and outright end mass incarceration, in opposition to the Trump administration’s urging to federal prosecutors to further utilize incarceration as a punishment.

Adam Gelb, one of The Pew Charitable Trusts’ criminal-justice experts, says that it was logical for states to reform their drug sentencing due to data showing no definitive proof that shows that punitive laws actually curb abuse. He says that lock up drug offenders increases punishment, but not public health and safety, according to the numbers.

Oklahoma is still having debates regarding the efficiency of the reforms, with some, like Det. Capt. Adam Flowers of Canadian Country, saying that it has taken away the teeth of drug-arrests. Some of the opposition is saying that part of the problem is that there is no incentive for drug abusers to go to visit the closest USA rehab facility and get treatment.

The reformers, to counter, say that treatment is an option, it always has been. Gelb says that people with addictions are bad with long-term considerations, with the time spent in jail measuring the same to them. Some people from the inside say that it’s a better alternative due to how easy it is to get drugs behind bars.

One may need to pause and recognize that most workers spend more time with each other at work than spending time with family and friends. As the department head, they also need to consider their employees who are working with them. Why? Because every employee will be doing the tasks on whatever the leader will assign to them. Through their various behaviour, an employee can make or break a team. With corporate team building activities, they can see benefits and learn lessons which they can apply at work. This can also change their behaviour and attitude towards work and with their colleagues.

Efficient team building activities and discovering how to manage a team begins with the manager or supervisor finding out if they and those on the same level see things the same way. Success is experienced when employees feel they have taken part in making things seem better. However, questions need to be answered such as why there is a need for team building activities? What difference does it make when done? Will there be new ideas derived from the process? Are things going to improve or will they continue to be that way? And how are we going to keep things so they can be done better than before?

When these questions are answered by the corporate team building activities, one can experience success both in work and camaraderie. After effective sessions, the manager should be able to handle his or her employees and work well with them. Disagreements, conflicts and other problems are minimized. And everyone should be smiling at each other as they work harmoniously together on a daily basis. Hence, possible teamwork is developed and there is better job performance.
